Wedding Photographer Heilbronn

Vineyards reaching the city edge, castle ruins and a modern Neckar waterfront: I photograph your wedding around Heilbronn naturally, without staged poses.

01

A wine-growing city on the Neckar

Heilbronn surprises many visitors: vines reach right up to the houses around the city, and the Wartberg is practically on the doorstep. Along the Neckar, a completely new, modern neighbourhood has emerged at the Neckarbogen. Just a few kilometres away in Weinsberg, the Weibertreu ruins rise above the vineyards.

This mix of wine country, history and clean-lined architecture brings variety to wedding stories here. In one afternoon, we can move between very different moods without travelling far. I especially like how bright and open the slopes feel in the evening light.

I come from Bammental and drive roughly 65 kilometres along the A6 to Heilbronn. Bad Rappenau is on the way, and Neckarsulm is immediately north of the city.

Favourite places around Heilbronn

Vineyard, ruin, river and castle park: these four places cover almost every mood you might want for your photographs.

Weibertreu Castle Ruins (Weinsberg)

The castle takes its name from a legend: in 1140, the women of Weinsberg are said to have carried their husbands out of the besieged castle on their backs. It is hard to imagine a more fitting story for a wedding couple. The ruins stand among vineyards and glow warmly in the evening.

Wartberg

From the Wartberg, you can look over vineyards into the city and far along the Neckar Valley. The paths between the vines are easy to walk, even in a long dress. I recommend the last hour before sunset.

Neckarbogen & Neckar Riverside

The new waterfront neighbourhood offers clean lines, riverside steps and plenty of sky. If you like modern, pared-back photographs, this is a good choice. In the evening, city lights reflect in the river.

Heinsheim Castle (Bad Rappenau)

The baroque estate, with its park and mature trees, offers a peaceful contrast to the city. Beneath the canopy, the light stays gentle even at midday. A short walk through the park often produces the most natural couple portraits.

Frequently asked questions about Heilbronn

I charge €50 per hour for photography and editing alike. An eight-hour story comes to €800, plus €39 for travel: around €839 altogether.

Heilbronn is about 65 km from Heidelberg, beyond the included 30 km one-way radius. I charge €0.30 per kilometre for the entire round trip: approximately 130 km, or €39. Bad Rappenau is a little closer, Weinsberg a little further.

The vineyards on Wartberg and around Weibertreu offer wide views and lovely evening light. If you prefer an urban setting, we can head to the Neckar. Often, though, there is a good spot right at your venue.

Of course. Four hours are often enough for a small celebration with the ceremony, reception and couple portraits. Including editing and travel to Heilbronn, that is around €439.

About nine to twelve months ahead if you are getting married on a Saturday in the main season. For smaller celebrations or weekdays, I often have availability at shorter notice.
