Wedding Photographer Bruchsal & Kraichgau
Baroque splendour in Bruchsal and gentle hills all around: I tell the story of your wedding quietly and naturally, with a medium-format camera and honest hourly pricing.
Between baroque architecture and rolling hills
Bruchsal has two sides, and I love both for weddings. In town stands one of south-west Germany's most magnificent baroque palaces, with stucco, sandstone and symmetrical garden vistas. Just a few minutes away, the Kraichgau begins: loess hills, orchards, small vineyards and farm tracks glowing gold in late summer.
For couple portraits, this combination is a gift. You can stand in the shade by the palace at midday, then head into the open countryside in the evening as the light falls low across the fields. On the hilltops, few trees block the sunset.
From Bammental, I drive south-west across the Kraichgau, roughly 35 kilometres to Bruchsal. Kronau, Bad Schönborn and Östringen are a similar distance away; Philippsburg is a little further west by the Rhine.
Photo locations in Bruchsal and the Kraichgau
Three places I like to suggest for weddings around Bruchsal, with the time of day that shows each at its best.
Bruchsal Baroque Palace & Gardens
Balthasar Neumann's staircase is regarded as a baroque masterpiece: an oval ascent beneath a painted dome. We check photography permission with the palace administration beforehand. Outside, the gardens offer peaceful vistas and sandstone sculptures, at their loveliest in the late afternoon when warm sidelight reaches the façade.
Kraichgau Hills, Fields & Vineyards
Between Östringen, Kronau and Bad Schönborn, farm tracks on the hilltops seem almost endless. In the hour before sunset, backlight makes veils and hair glow. Comfortable shoes for the walk to our spot are invaluable here.
The Village Centres of Östringen & Odenheim
Small church squares, timber-framed houses and sandstone walls make these villages a peaceful setting for family photographs. Short, level walks are a real advantage, especially with grandparents. Mornings are usually pleasantly quiet.

Questions about weddings in the Kraichgau
My hourly rate is €50 for both photography and editing. A typical eight-hour story comes to €800 in fees. Including €21 for travel, the total in Bruchsal is about €821.
Yes, a small amount. Bruchsal is about 35 km from Heidelberg, just beyond the included 30 km one-way radius. The entire round trip is charged at €0.30 per kilometre: around 70 km, or €21. For places such as Kronau or Östringen, I use the actual route.
My favourites are the hilltop farm tracks, with their open views to the horizon at sunset. If you prefer architecture, Bruchsal's palace gardens are a good choice. We often combine the two: group photographs at the palace, then a short drive into the countryside.
Definitely. Four hours are often enough for a small wedding with the ceremony, a toast and couple portraits. Including editing, that is €400, plus €21 for travel: about €421 altogether.
For a summer Saturday, ideally a year ahead, especially if you are celebrating at a popular venue. For Fridays or winter dates, a few months' notice is often enough.
